G.hn is The Most Robust Home Connectivity Solution to Date

Minneapolis, MN — March 11, 2014 — Suttle, a wholly owned subsidiary of Communications Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ-GM: JCS), announces the release of a revolutionary broad set of applications that deliver total home connectivity within existing units. Designed to create more robust home networks, FutureLink™ G.hn Gigabit Ethernet connectivity enhances the coverage of triple play services throughout the premise at a reduced cost of deployment.

Suttle President, Bruce Blackwood, explained the role of FutureLink™ G.hn Gigabit Ethernet connectivity in Suttle’s product portfolio, saying, “We are expanding the focus towards products that extend the life of all types of networks, making their deployment simple and affordable.”

George Wakileh, Suttle Global Vice President of Technology and Business Development states, “The G.hn platform offering exemplifies the strategic innovation within Suttle’s product road map. Suttle has reimagined the Truly Connected Home with a set of networking devices that connect all areas of the home utilizing existing infrastructure and networking topology/media, maximizing coverage, and allowing complete device mobility. For the service provider this reduces service turn-up time and lowers total cost of ownership.”

Our G.hn Gigabit Ethernet connectivity offers a plug-and-play solution that allows easy end-user installation. Once G.hn Gigabit devices are installed, network coverage is extended throughout the home by way of coax cables, telephone wiring, power lines or wireless. The existing infrastructure is leveraged when a device is plugged into a power outlet and the signal is relayed to each device. Suttle’s new G.hn solution distributes a consistent signal to all outlets, including hard-to-reach rooms with common interferences, such as mobile chargers and thick walls.

In addition to the reduced cost of deployment, FutureLink™ G.hn Gigabit Ethernet connectivity eliminates the need for double inventory, so one device can support all the media in a home. This platform also future-proofs the network, allowing expansion and network scalability to add complementary products. G.hn technology follows the international open standard ITU-T.
